Sometimes Change is Scary, Even if it's Good

It's been a pretty intense couple of weeks, and I'm finally feeling like my magical self again and able to get things done. I just moved into a new apartment with a friend of mine that also happens to be a badass artist, and while I was so incredibly excited to move to a new place, it was still so very stressful and exhausting. That on top of all the Mercury Retrograde garbage going on, plus my own mental and emotional struggles, lead to one of the worst weeks for my anxiety and depression I've had in a long time.

Amidst all of this, however, there were some really, really cool things happening.

On the coffee front, my pals at Stonebru coffee in Dakota Dunes, about an hour away from Sioux Falls, hosted their first ever Thursday Night Throwdown, which also happened to be my first ever latte art throwdown, and WOOF, was it fun.

There were some amazing baristas there from all over the area, and one of our own baristas, Carly Holmstrom, ended up taking second place! I managed to get fourth place, which was way better than I had hoped for! Now I'm working even harder to hone my craft and prepare for the next one.

Despite the heavy sadness that kept me feeling so weary the last couple weeks, there was some really rad shows happening, and I went and took photos and danced and maybe even cried. Over the next week I'm going to be sharing photos from these shows, and I hope you can feel a little bit of the magic I felt at each show.
I'm feeling creative and magical again now and can't wait to work on some cool things and post them on here and just... create again.
