Recently I was commissioned to do some art for our local pals Angie Hosh, whose new album "Solutions" is being released on Total Drag Records May 13th at Total Drag. Above is the main album art, which was created almost entirely in the dark room using a variety of different processes. I won't go into detail with how this final image came about in this post because I just don't have the time to go into the detail that would be necessary. Just assumed there's weird chemicals and witchcraft probably involved. However, I'll say that I did use the Mordancage process on this photo, as I've used on photos like in my Cycles of Decay series in the past, and it worked incredibly well with this photo.
Below is the portrait shots I took of each member of the band at the time. However, though these were shot on film and I made prints in the darkroom, I didn't do anything else to the physical prints themselves (except add a little sharpie). I've become very interested in glitch art this last year and got myself a scanner and decided to try a technique on these portraits by moving the prints around while they were being scanned. The result was very interesting.. and magical.
