Hi, hello, it’s been a minute!
Life is weird and crazy and has been moving much too fast!
Beginning of May I got a new puppy, his name is Toki (korean for rabbit) because of his big ears.
I maybe got him a bit impulsively, although I had wanted a dog for years and years and felt so ready.. Puppies are an insane amount of work and require so so so much time and energy. I love him so but the first few months were so hard, I really didn’t have time for anything else. I also felt that creatively, I was in such a rut.. I had no ideas and picking up my camera seemed like a chore, so I mostly didn’t.
Taking pictures of Toki started to help me get back into it, especially as I keep training him and he gets better at posing and waiting while I capture photos, and as I learn his personality and mannerisms more. It’s just really fun, plus I love having all these good photos of my best friend!
But overall the last few months I was feeling so overwhelmed and exhausted and overworked and my anxiety was winning almost every battle we fought; my mental health just started spiraling pretty hard and I was feeling so very weary.
And then I went to Iceland.
I’ll need several other blog posts to tell all about my 12 day trip in this amazingly beautiful country, but after the first couple days of exploring, hiking, and soaking in geothermal springs, I began to feel more alive and real than I had in a long time.
And now I’m back, and I’m making art, and I can’t wait to share the mystical things I’m going to create.
If you’re here, you clearly care, and I appreciate it more than you know.
